The Logistics Engineering course will teach you everything about all different modes of transport. Logistics is everywhere, irrespective of whether it concerns people or distribution. Would you like to become a professional expert in logistics and management, who can get to work anywhere in the world?
You will learn everything there is to know about physical distribution during the course: storage, transport and the planning of goods. What do you need to order and what quantities? Where are you going to store the products and how will you get them to the customer? You will learn to design new ports with quays, material handlers and warehouses. You will also learn all about people logistics, with the flows of people being the central focus point. This could include logistics during a large-scale event, hospitals or major disasters. Whichever direction you choose, you will be the one responsible for ensuring all business processes continue running and making sure problems are solved. You will also organise all communication between the involved parties.
The learning outcome of this course is your ability to apply logistics engineering methodologies as part of modelling and analysis of system support solutions. You will acquire a commanding level of professional knowledge in logistics engineering and be able to think creatively through the logistics solution space.
This course is designed to equip professionals, technical personnel and managers of manufacturing and defence related industries with the essential logistic concepts, methodologies, processes and tools needed to understand and apply logistics engineering knowledge to acquire, support and strategically review any type of materiel systems acquired and operated by the Department of Defence.
You will learn the importance of systems approach to the design of logistics systems that includes design, development, operating and decommissioning phases of the defence system, and focus on affordable logistics support and on total cost of ownership in its life cycle.
