Software Engineering is a program involved in scientific research, engineering practice and crossed application. It is also a program to put the theory and technology of computer science, and the principle and method of engineering management into application; a program to meet the customers’ requirements of the definition, development, running and maintenance of software products, according to the budget and schedule of the project; a program to set those mentioned above as subjects of research; a program to support the software industry and the modern service industry. To meet demands in industries and fields, the program is aimed to cultivate high-level talents of an applied and inter-disciplinary ability, with fundamental theories, a broad professional knowledge, active consciousness of innovation, an independent ability to research and develop software, and an ability to organize and manage engineering projects.
