Dalian University of Foreign Languages (DUFL) is located in the beautiful coastal city of Dalian. At present, the university has about 900 professional faculty members and an enrollment of approximate 15,000 students. Since its establishment, more than80 graduates become officials of Ministry of Foreign Affairs. DUFL attaches great importance to international exchange and has established a multiple training model. We have entered into partnership with over 180 universities, research institutions and civil societies from 30 countries to educate students and has truly realized a diversified method of training undergraduate students, postgraduate students and doctors, and we successfully realize the program of “language + major”, such as programs of “2+2”, “3+1”, “2+1+1”, “5+1”, and “4+2”.Among them, the “2+2” program with Far Eastern National University was included in China and Russia Cooperation Implementation Plan of Education signed by Chinese president Hu Jintao and Russian former President Vladimir Putin. In order to train more and higher level talents for regional cooperation, the university was awarded as the Chinese president office of Shanghai Cooperation Organization in 2012. The university is national multilingual base for promoting the Chinese language and the first Education Training Base for foreign students in Liaoning province. Nine Confucius Intuitions were established in Russia, Japan, Korea, and Colombia, Guyana, Armenia, Brazil Portugal and Italy transmitting Chinese culture and promoting communications between Chinese and foreign cultures.
As one of the first universities offering Chinese major with BA degrees, Dalian University of Foreign Languages is an important base teaching Chinese language to international students in China. It is a national Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) center in Dalian and is appointed to accept international students with Chinese Government Scholarship, Confucius Institute Scholarship and Dalian Government Scholarship. During the past 30 years, nearly 15,000 long-term and short-term students from 60 countries have studied at School of Chinese Studies (SCS). SCS has received 1806 students from 56 countries as long-term and short-term students in 2017.
