Shenyang Jianzhu University, established in 1948, is the only comprehensive university with its priority given to Civil Engineering and Architecture as well as multi-disciplinary education overlapping among engineering science, industry, literature, administration, nature science, agronomy and law in Liaoning Province.

Of the total area of 1,038,960 square meters and total building area of 590,000 square meters, the campus is located in “college town” of Hunnan New District in Shenyang. The planning of the campus is full of people-oriented concepts and ideas of harmonious coexistence between nature and human being. A 756.31-meter corridor, which is the longest in Asia, connects the teaching area, lab area, living area and administrative area together. SJZU has the domestic first building museum, and multi-functioned gymnasium (which includes swimming pool, basketball arena, volleyball arena, table tennis hall, tennis courts, gymnastic hall and Fitness facilities).
The university has 17 subordinate schools and 1,700 faculty members are working at SJZU currently, including more than 102 professors, 210associate professors, 14 subject experts. Current enrollment consists of nearly 19,000 degree candidates, including 12,000 undergraduates, 2800 graduates and doctorate students, 650 foreign students, and students enrolled in adult and professional schools from 52 various countries (regions). There are 20 Chinese Government scholarships awarded here every year. In the recent 6 years, the employment rate of new graduates consistently topped the list in Liaoning Province. More and more Chinese companies have actively developed cooperation in Africa. With the support of the Chinese government, the number of companies offering our students work increased.
SJZU is entitled to confer Master’s Degrees in 33 programs and Doctoral Degrees in 5 programs. She also has 6 provincial major subjects and 8 provincial key laboratories. Undergraduate Education consists of 5 sciences and 35 subjects. Among them, 7 subjects are national approved and the subjects of Civil Engineering & Architecture have both passed the evaluation of the Ministry of Education. In the third evaluation of China Discipline Ranking（CDR），SJZU ranks first among Liaoning provincial universities in 6 first-grade State subjects(which include Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Urban and Rural Planning, Landscape Architecture, and Software Engineering). The university was approved as an experimental school to cultivate excellent athletes of snow skiing, gymnastics in 2002. Shenyang Jianzhu University has set up sister relationship with more than 60 universities in 40 countries around the world. In this way, Shenyang Jianzhu University has strengthened its connection with the foreign universities worldwide.
