The university has 19 colleges and one teaching department, one graduate school and one graduate school in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province. There are 1,412 full-time faculty and staff in the university including 4 part-time academician from the prestigious Chinese Academy of Sciences. It has 5 post-doctoral research stations, 5 level one (national level) doctoral programs, 25 level two doctoral programs, 18 level one master programs, 92 level two master programs, 18 Master of Engineering and professional license of Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Accounting (MPAcc) programs, Master of International Business (MIB), Master of Law and Master of Fine Arts. Totally 27,075 students are studying in the university.
The University is one of the first-batch universities authorized to grant Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree. It is the first university to confer PhD degrees in engineering and to set up Mobile Station for Post-doctoral Research in Engineering in Gansu Province. The University has 66 undergraduate programs, among which 6 are National Specialty Programs with Distinctive Features, 2 are Ministry of Education Strategic New Industry-related Program，1 is National Pilot Program for Comprehensive Reform in Program. The university covers 9 disciplines including Engineering, Science, Management, Arts, Law, Education, Medicine, Fine Arts and Economics. and has 16 provincial key academic and research programs with Engineering and Material Science ranking the top 1% on ESI inclusion, Metallurgical engineering, Power engineering and Thermal physics ranking 11th and 26th respectively among the universities in China in the 3rd round China Discipline Ranking. The university has a national key lab for non-ferrous metals advanced processing and recycling jointly funded by the Ministry of Education and Gansu province and a national-level science park. It has established all-round cooperation relationship with cities within or outside of Gansu province. The university has set up cooperative relationship with more than 200 business enterprises to carry out business-academic cooperation.
The university is actively developing international exchanges and cooperation with more than 40 universities of the United States, Russia, Britain, Australia and other countries.
