JU has an area of 1.5 million square meters and its buildings have a floor space of 1.06 million square meters. JU has a total of 26 colleges and 69 reaserch laboratories. JU has an area of 1.5 million square meters and its buildings have a floor space of 1.06 million square meters. JU has a total of 26 colleges and 69 reaserch laboratories. The specialties are included in the following eleven academic disciplines: literature, natural sciences, technological science, medicine, economics, education, law, history, management, agriculture and fine arts, with 72 specialties offering bachelor’s or associate degrees, 10 first—level discipline offering master’s degree, 7 second—level discipline offering master’s degree and 3 disciplines offering professional master’s degree. The teaching strength consists of academicians, Long Jiang Scholars, specially-appointed professors and guest professors.
In recent years, JU has been operating with an open-door policy. It has established friendly relationships, educational, academic, scientific exchanges and research with 38 universities in more than 14 countries and regions such as the US, Japan, Russia, South Korea, India and Pakistan.
The International Students Education College (ISEC) is one of JU’s colleges. Its main purpose is to recruit, educate and administrate international students. ISEC’s office building and dormitory building for international students have a floor space of 30,000 square meters. Every year there are more than 600 international students at JU coming from more than 40 countries including undergraduate students, postgraduate students, general scholars, short-term courses students etc. Now the university have set up international classes in English on undergraduate and postgraduate.
Jiamusi University was entrusted with the allocation of Chinese Government Scholarships to recruit international students. Our university has many kinds of scholarships.
