This course is an introduction to the principles and industry standards of digital media, focusing on how digital media technologies are used to create and deliver content across multi-platform applications. You will explore audio, imaging and video production practice, and investigate how to integrate digital media technologies into systems that align with project requirements. You will also reflect on social issues and the implications of social and environmental awareness in developing your design.
Upon the successful completion of this course you will be able to:
• Apply theory and technical skills to capture and produce high quality digital media (sound, images, video).
• Discuss and apply industry standards in digital media to implement integrated audio-visual systems.
• Investigate and assess the most appropriate technology for the development of digital media productions.
• Produce media that can be distributed across a broad range of platforms in collaboration with others.
• Discuss ways in which design and technology are influenced by social issues.
