Dance Studies degree allows you to engage in a comprehensive study of dance, focused around a central core of choreography, performance and critical appreciation. On this degree you will develop performance, creative and critical skills to experience the multifaceted dimensions of dance as an art form. Our programme is distinguished by the flexibility of choice offered with the additional option to focus fully on choreographic processes and exit with the award title in Dance Studies.
Dance Studies will be relevant for building a career related dance in teaching at many levels, different public sectors in governmental organizations. This may include policy and planning for dance as part of cultural policies and safeguarding actions in ministries and institutions which work with various aspects of dance, both locally and internationally.
Dance course, you will train in a broad range of contemporary dance practices and gain exciting insight into dance histories and contexts. We offer a fully integrated course and welcome differently-abled bodies.
Our unique approach rejects the artificial separation of ‘practice’ and ‘theory’, and will develop your understanding of dance as a diverse and dynamic cultural practice. You will be given vital knowledge and competence for a professional career in dance, benefitting from both the heritage of the University as well as being part of the dynamic dance community
