The physics involved in electric power transmission, and the trade in the electric power market (Norpol). Energy balance and environmental accounts.

The course provides the student with knowledge about:
- Key challenges and technologies in energy use, utilization of energy resources, energy conversion and environmental conse-quences.

- The trade in the electric power market
- Planning and design of heat supply for buildings
- Energy balance and environmental accounts
- Environmental impact of different energy systems and methods for calculating environmental impacts
The course covers environmental impact of energy production and consumption. Further aspects studied are energy, energy efficiency, consumption patterns and sustainability. The course also includes an essay writing in which the student will get a closer knowledge of different forms of energy consumption.
