Navigation technology is an exciting degree designed for students who wish to pursue a career as a Professional Yachtsman, Merchant Navy officer, Super Yacht officers or in Maritime Management. The course focuses on the interaction of the marine environment, the human element, modern technology and is integrated with a vocational training programme, which leads to a full professional qualification.

This course educates students in modern onboard navigation systems and associated ground based technology. In addition, the course consolidates prior knowledge gained in the fields of Meteorology, Flight Planning and Performance, Basic Navigation and Aviation Regulation.
Do you want to become a professional seafarer in the merchant navy, yachting or superyacht industries? You will study a three year honours programme that gives you skills sought by employers across the sector for shore-based maritime management. You can study an additional year working at sea to gain internationally recognised qualifications required to become a professional seafarer. You will gain core leadership, navigation and meteorological skills through time on ships and in our simulator.
